Privacy

Sidereal holds your birth moment, the people you keep close, and the things you tell the Seer about your life. That is about as intimate as a dataset gets, and we would rather say plainly what happens to it than hide it in a wall of clauses.

The short version

• We don't sell your information. Not to anyone, not ever.
• There are no advertisers, no trackers, and no analytics companies watching you here.
• You can read everything we hold, correct it, take a copy, or delete all of it from inside the app.
• What we send elsewhere, we send only to make the app work — and we name every recipient below.

What Sidereal keeps

Your account. Your email address, the time zone your device reports, your notification preferences, and a record of each sitting you sign in from (the device description, the network address it came from, and when we last saw you). A sign-in code is erased the moment it is used; one that goes unused stops working after fifteen minutes and is swept from the ledger within a few hours.

Your birth record. The date, time, and place you were born, and the coordinates and time zone of that place. This is what the chart is cast from; without it the app has nothing to read.

Your circle. The names, relationships, and birth records of the people you add. They are your entries about them, kept for you — see “The people you add” below.

Your consultations. The questions you ask, the Seer's replies, and the readings cast for you each day, week, and month.

What the Seer remembers. Durable notes about your life — that you started a job, that someone was ill, that a date matters — kept so the Seer can speak to your life rather than to a birth date. These are visible to you in Settings, and forgetting one deletes it outright — from our database and from any file you export.

Device tokens, if you turn on the morning call, so a notification can reach your phone. The notification itself carries only a line or two; your reading stays in the app.

We do not collect location beyond the birthplaces you type, we do not read your contacts, and we have no advertising identifiers.

Who else sees it

Anthropic provides the Claude models the Seer speaks through. To compose a reading we send your chart, the relevant part of your question, and the memories that bear on it. Anthropic processes this to return the reading and does not use it to train their models.

Mailgun delivers our email — sign-in codes and, if you ask for it, the morning letter. They see your email address and the contents of those messages.

OpenStreetMap's Nominatim turns a birthplace you type into coordinates and a time zone. It receives the place name — “London, Ontario” — and nothing about who you are.

Apple carries push notifications to your device if you enable them.

Sentry receives error reports when something in the app breaks, so we can fix it. An error report describes the failure, not your life: readings, memories, and birth details are not part of it.

OVHcloud hosts the server and its backups.

That is the whole list. There is no analytics vendor, no advertising network, no data broker, and no “partner” we have not named here. We will disclose your information if the law genuinely compels us to, and we will tell you when we are permitted to.

The people you add

When you record someone's birth details, you are recording information about another person. Please add only people whose details you have a fair reason to hold — family, partners, close friends — and treat what the Seer says about them the way you would want yours treated. Remove someone and their chart, their reading, and what the Seer remembered about them go with them.

How long it is kept

Until you delete it. Sign-in codes expire in fifteen minutes and are swept regularly. Signing out ends that sitting and its notification token. Deleting your account removes your record, your charts, your circle, your consultations, and the Seer's memories immediately and permanently — backups roll off within thirty days.

What you can do

From Settings inside the app you can take a copy of everything we hold in a readable file, correct your birth record and your circle, forget individual memories, and delete your account outright. No email to us is required for any of it; if something isn't working, write to support@siderealseer.com and we will do it for you.

Under Quebec's Law 25 and Canada's PIPEDA — and the GDPR, if you are in Europe — you have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and withdrawal of consent. The app is built so you can exercise them yourself, immediately, without asking permission.

Security

Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Sign-in is by single-use code rather than a password, so there is no password of yours for anyone to steal or reuse. Access to the server is limited to the people who run Sidereal.

Children

Sidereal is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly keep information from them. If a child's account has been created, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before it takes effect — quietly changing what we do with your life's details is exactly the thing we are promising not to do.
